In this thought-provoking course, Dr. Christopher Kurtz examines the modern phenomenon of serial murder. The course will explore the sociological and psychological factors that influence and shape the serial murderer. Dr. Kurtz retraces the life of Marquis de Sade and the birth of sadism which has led to the modern-day phenomenon of lust murder. Ted Bundy, Edmund Kemper and the Green River Killer are among the serial killers examined. Husband-wife murder teams and the female serial killer will also be examined.
