Since the new Firefox 3 was downloaded all over the world I have had it twice downloaded to my computer, which is running Windows Vista.
Each time my computer rejects it , telling me it is not a suitable file!
I bought this computer from an online supplier with Vista already set up on it so I cannot change it.
I find I cannot communicate with Firefox either.
I downloaded Firefox 2 only about four months ago! Apparently Firefox will not support Firefox 2 after December.
My computer also has I E on it so I suppose I'll be forced to use that as Vista wants me to!

I don't have Vista but found this on the FF site. Here are the Release notes.

That FF3 is for vista. Here are the system requirements.

But after reading the Known Issues, I will wait until later in the year to upgrade my FF2. I use Opera as my main browser. I have a problem with FF in that when I use it and close it, it is still running in Processes. When I try to open FF again I get an error saying that I already have it open. I have to go to Task Manager and End the FF process before I can open another FF screen.

Have you tried to Uninstall FF2 via the control panel first?

Thanks, no, it just "very kindly" just downloaded itself while I was on line, just like it did last time!
I wondered if it was better to go to the site and download it myself but didn't find the site at the time.
       So, thank you!
Today we are going to have exceptionally bad weather with strong gales and snow to low levels so I'm going back to bed to read nice computer books from the library!

You can turn off that auto install if you want.

Tools/Options/Advanced       tab. The second dialog. I have "Ask me..." checked there and all of the top ones checked.

Hi Andrea, Thank goodness for the times we are living in. There are so many ways we can further our education. I live in the Bahamas, and by means of my computer I can talk to you. I have been an independant learner for some time, so I am always on the lookout for something of interest. Put the computer to good use. Before I started this course I did one with University of Wisconsin-Madison. The name of the course was the Eco-Librarian, and it was awesome! this course opened my eyes about how we treat the environment, and it was also relative to the field I work in. so set out a plan of what you want to do and go for it.
