It's a great feeling to help people learn and watch them grow. Knowledge is
power, and it is the key to empowering individuals from all countries and walks
of life, making the world a better place, one person at a time. This "helping
hand" philosophy has always been a cherished tradition at VU.
If you would like to share your knowledge with eager learners in every corner of
the globe, browse this list of Mentor
Opportunities to see if there is a course that you're qualified to teach. If so,
please fill out this brief questionnaire
to help us create a short bio on you that will be included on our Mentors Circle page.
You can include a photo with your profile, if you wish.
As a volunteer, you decide how much free time you can devote to a class. You can
spend an hour or two a week answering students' questions or you might take a
more active role, posting links to interesting websites and commenting on
homework. Whenever possible, we will have more than one mentor helping in each
class. That way, if you are offline or unable to respond, students' questions
will still be answered.

Before classes start each term, a link to your class will
be added to your VU desk.
If you are unable to reach your classroom, please
let us know.
Every VU classroom has a discussion board where students can post questions and
you can reply, give feedback, and suggest useful resources. This
FAQ
provides easy, step-by-step instructions on how to use these discussion boards.
VU has a strict policy against advertising on class boards.
Mentors
are asked to refrain from soliciting students, collecting students' email
addresses for mailing lists or advertising any products, services or websites
unless approved in advance by VU staff.
If you have further questions about the VU Mentors' Circle, please
contact us.
Thanks for your interest in the Mentors Circle and we look forward to interacting with you at VU!
