Virtual University is the Web's oldest e-learning community and one of the first 600 sites built on the Web. Since 1994, we have served free and low-cost classes to over five million users. Today, we not only develop courses but we're a gateway to a vast library of free classes offered by universities, nonprofits and everyday people who love to share their knowledge.

If you are a new user, please create a free account or log in if you already have a desk.

If you like what we're doing, please share VU with your friends!

What's New at VU — updated March 1, 2015

• Intelligent people love news. But it takes way too much time to visit dozens of news sites hunting for headlines. NewsWave gives you one-click access to all your news in one place!

• Our developers have been hard at work, and we're rolling out a preview of myVU (pronounced my view), a new social network for cool, creative and intelligent people! If you are a VU student, past or present, or you plan to enroll in classes, you're invited to create a myVU account. Otherwise, please request an invite and we'll add more users as we roll out new features.
