Copyright Law for Educators and Librarians

Fear and uncertainty about copyright law often plague educators and sometimes prevent creative teaching. This free course offered by three professors from Duke and Emory University and University of North Carolina is a professional development opportunity designed to provide an introduction to U.S. copyright law and to empower teachers and librarians at all grade levels. The course will also be informative for writers and others desiring a better understanding of present-day copyright law. Each of the four units of the course includes five or six video lectures featuring all three instructors. The total lecture time per week is approximately 60-90 minutes. Targeted readings are given each week, adding 45-60 minutes to the time required for the course.
